Learning Targets
• Learning targets are crafted by teachers
and used during lessons to guide
students towards what is expected.
• “Look-fors” help students know what
they can do to reach the learning target
• Can be short or long term

Standards Based Reporting
• Learning targets are based on standards from the Lincoln Learning
Expectations, which are based on state and national standards
• Our report card is organized by standards with descriptions for
the grade level. Important highlights include
– Growth as a learner section and academic achievement section
– Effort and academic achievement are separate
• We use a 4, 3, 2, 1 scoring system on individual assessments as
well as on report cards

How to Help at Home
• Check red folder nightly!
• Emphasize nightly reading and talking about what
has been read
• Support practice of writing

pack your child a healthy snack every day
• We will go outside for recess every day,
except for rain or extreme cold, so please
make sure to send children to school with
appropriate clothing
