Tú Commands
• All commands are either affirmative (Do it!!!!) or
negative (Don’t do it!!!!)
• If you know a personal well and feel comfortable
using the tú form with them, you will use
informal commands when you ask them to do
something.
• If they are an adult you are meeting for the first
time, a teacher, principal, person in a position of
authority, etc. you will used formal commands.
How to form
• The affirmative informal (tú) commands are
formed the same way as the present indicative
Ud. form.
• pensar → piensa
• recoger → recoge
• servir → sirve

Negative Commands
To form a negative “tú” command:
• 1. Use the “yo” form of the verb.
• 2. Remove the –o ending.
• 3. Add –es to –ar verbs, and –as to –er/–ir
verbs, what are considered to be opposite
endings.
