What is a direct object pronoun?
A direct object pronoun replaces the
direct object of the sentence.
• Think of it as a place holder, a way to
make the sentence shorter and more
concise
• Usually used when the direct object has
been mentioned earlier in the sentence
or in the previous sentence
Ejemplo
Yo compré la pizza.
Yo la compré.
I bought the pizza.
I bought it.

• An indirect object indicates to/for whom an
action is done or a noun is given
• Examples:
– I gave the gift to her.
– She bought the food for me.
– They read a book to you.
