What to do…
If the verb that is reflexive is part of a verb
phrase and isn’t conjugated, add the reflexive
pronoun (me, te, se, etc.) to the end of it (the
verb).
Examples
• I want to eat breakfast.
Yo quiero desayunarme.
• He is going to dress himself.
Él va a vestirse.
• We are going to stay.

Reflexive vs. Non-reflexive
The meaning of the sentence can change if you
use the reflexive pronoun.
• Using the reflexive pronoun expresses a
reciprocal action
-the idea of each other.
Examples
• Llamo a mi amigo.
I call my friend.
• Mi amigo y yo nos llamamos.
My friend and I call each other.
Reflexive vs. Non-reflexive
• With non-reflexive the subject does the action
to someone or something else.
• With reflexive the subject does the action to
itself.
Where do they go?
• Put reflexive pronouns before conjugated
verbs.
