Formal commands in Spanish are done this way:
 First change your verb to the usted form in the present tense.
AR verbs- Drop the ar and add “a”
ER, IR verbs- Drop the er/ir and add “e”
 Then add the DOP after the verb. The DOP refers to the word that is
receiving the action from the verb.
 Last step, add an accent mark in the first sylable (vowel) for
pronunciation purposes.
 Ejemplo: Mandar invitaciones. To send invitations.
drop ar = mand
add “a” = manda
add DOP – las for invitaciones = mandalas
last step = add accent mark = mándalas

 In English the present progressive can mean that
something is happening right now, is going on regularly, or
is going to happen.
 Everyone is celebrating in the leaving room.
 We are spending a lot of time together.
 I am leaving tomorrow.
 In Spanish, the present progressive can mean that
something is happening right now or is going on regularly
in the present. It is not used for what is going to happen.
 Todos estamos celebrando en la sala.

 When the stem of an “er” or “ir” verb ends in a vowel,
form the present progressive by changing the “i” to “y”.
For example:
leer le- vowel

 Shoe verbs that end in “ir”, to form the present
progressive, like the verbs dormir, pedir, and servir
change o-u and e-i. There are no stem changing for ar
and er verbs.
