Asking and answering questions
Asking and answering questions is
one of the most primary and
simple usages of language.
It is a very basic way of using
language in a meaningful and
“real-world” context.
There are two primary ways
To form questions:
1.Manipulation of word order and
punctuation.
2. Tag Questions

There are three basic chunks that make up a basic
sentence:
Subject + Verb + Predicate
Paco + is + tall and organized.
The primary way to form questions is by manipulating
(changing up) the word order of these chunks AND
changing the punctuation.
¿VS(sw)P?
Or
¿VPS(mw)?
Ie…Is Paco tall and organized?
¿Es Paco alto y ordenado?
**(except with gustar-like verbs)
2. Tag Questions
A tag question is a question just tacked
on to a sentence:
Subject + Verb + Predicate
Paco + is + tall and organized,
right?
¿verdad? - right?
¿no?
- isn’t it?
Ie…Paco is tall and organized, right?
Paco es alto y ordenado, ¿verdad?
I like to study.
¿Qué te gusta hacer?
Elena likes to watch television.
¿Quién le gusta ver la tele?
We don’t like to do homework.
¿Qué a Uds. no les gusta hacer?
Carlos and Miguel love cars.
¿Qué a Carlos y a Miguel les encantan?
Yes, we like to look at photos.
¿A Uds. les gusta mirar fotos?
Yes, I like to go shopping.
Te gusta ir de compras, ¿verdad?
