Reflexive verbs describe actions done to or for oneself. In English, the
reflexive pronouns end in –self or –selves and show that the subject both
does and receives the action of the verb.
In Spanish, all reflexive verbs are expressed with a reflexive pronoun.
Here is how: In the infinitive form of reflexive verbs the reflexive
pronoun attaches to the end: bañarse, ducharse, entrenarse etc.
Conjugation: When you conjugate reflexive verbs, the pronoun goes
before the conjugated verb.


When you use the infinitive form of a reflexive verb after a
conjugated verb, be sure to use the correct reflexive
pronoun.
 1. You can attach the pronoun.







¿A qué hora quieres despertarte?
2. You can put the pronoun BEFORE the conjugated verb.
Ejemplos:
Quiero levantarme temprano. Or I could have said: Me
quiero levantar.
Nosotros fuimos a bañarnos. Or
Nos fuimos a bañar.
I plan (pienso) on showering tonight.=
Yo me pienso duchar esta noche OR Yo pienos ducharme esta noche.
Nos tenemos que entrenar. OR Tenemos que entrenarnos.
Many verbs can be used with or without reflexive pronouns.
When there is no reflexive pronoun, the person doing the
action does not receive the action.













Ejemplos:
Me despierto a las seis.
Despierto a Carolina a las nueve.
I wake up (myself) at seis.
I wake up Carolina at nine.
Yo me baño.
Yo baño a mi perro.
I bathed myself.
I bathed my dog.
Jose se despierta.
Jose despierta a su hija.
Jose wakes himself up.
Jose wakes up his daughter.
Anytime and action is done to yourself use a reflexive pronoun.
How would you say?:
We wash our faces everyday.
Nos lavamos las caras todos los días.
We wash Spanky on Tuesdays.
Lavamos a Spanky los martes.
