Who is Prometheus?





Was the god of fire
Titan in Greek mythology
Name means “forethought”
Stole fire from the gods and gave it to
mankind
Punishment was used to torture his
immortality
Who is Frankenstein?
When he was young became very interested in
natural philosophy, mathematics, electricity, and
chemistry


Robert Walton found Victor Frankenstein in
a block of ice.
He told Victor to tell more about his life
What is the Prometheus Myth?




It is a Greek myth
Zeus asked Prometheus to make humanity from
mud and water
Created humans with lumps of clay
Athena blew on them to create life
What does it have to do with Frankenstein?


The scientist Frankenstein created the
creation out of abstract material
Prometheus and Frankenstein both stole
fire for their own personal usage
Why was the title going to be called “The
Modern Prometheus”?

It showed Frankenstein and Prometheus’s
similarities

Newer version of the old Greek myth
