Development & main facts
Nov. 2009 – Nov. 2010
STAR PROJECT: WIND OFF-SHORE
ON ONE SIDE, SPAIN IS ONE OF THE LEADERS IN SHORE BASED WIND
ENERGY.
SPANISH COMPANIES (e.g. IBERDROLA, ACCIONA; etc.) OPERATE WIND
FARMS IN SPAIN AND ABROAD (USA, etc.).
SOME OF KEY EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS ARE SPANISH (e.g.
GAMESA).
ON THE OTHER SIDE, WIND OFF-SHORE HAS PECULIARITIES THAT REQUIRE
NAVAL ENGINEERING PROCEDURES AND SPECIFIC VESSELS.
IBERDROLA IS ALREADY PROMOTING A WIND FARM IN UK.
THAT OPENS UP OPPORTUNITIES FOR SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY.
AND FINALLY, SPAIN HAS A POWERFUL SHIPBUILDING
INDUSTRY…THEREFORE, THE SPANISH MARITIME CLUSTER HAS
SET UP A WORKING GROUP THAT IS ASSISTING COMPANIES IN
WIND OFF-SHORE.
