History

As a Mongolian annual traditional festival, it plays an important role in Mongolian daily life. This
fair is held in July and August annually, the golden autumn season. The fat livestock roams on
green grassland idly. This is an entertainment fair for Mongolian people to celebrate the harvest.
Today

Ordos International Nadam Fair inherits the environmental , colorful and lucky concept , builds
international culture and sports activities brand with ethnic characteristic ,spreads extensive and
profound culture of Great Grassland. Simultaneously this fair will strengthen exchanges and
cooperation between China and Other countries in the fields of ethnic culture,
economy ,trade ,technology and etc.
Daytimes

People from place to place are dressed in their best clothes gather at Nadam Fair venue, which is
crowed with so many people . Mongolian yurts and tents stand in great numbers. Horses, camels
and vehicles are everywhere. All of these make it a prosperous scene.
At Night
As the nighttime is falling, people will light bonfires at the grassland in front of the Mongolian
yurts around Nadam Fair venue. Herdsmen who were carried away with joy sit on the ground
around the bonfire and enjoy the mellow milk tea and kumiss. They sing folk songs with melodious
horse-head violin music. The excited herdsmen dance folk dances in songs and enjoy a sleepless
night.

On the fair, visitor will not only enjoy the performance of Mongolian wrestling, Mongolian archery,
horse racing and horse shows, but experience by themselves herdsman's life and understand
