What is MRSA?
It’s a strain of Staph infection that is
resistant to the group of antbiotics
called betalactams ie penicillin
Spread by bacteria going into cuts or
open wounds
Symptoms
MRSA infection will produce pimple or
boils that will swell and could be painful
and drain pus
If not treated can lead to pneumonia,
meningitis, or toxic shock syndrome
Treatment
MRSA is resistant to penicillin and other
antibiotics in the same family
Antibiotics have been made that don’t
let the bacterium to break down the
antibiotic
Cures
There are not any quick cure
Infections are cured with aid of
antibiotics and coving up infections so
that they can’t spread
Prevention
Cleaning wounds and washing clothes
and hands helps prevent infection
Alcohol is a helpful surface sanitizer
