What it is
● The amount of dissolved oxygen in a
body of water to break down organic
materials
● Similar function to Chemical oxygen
demand (both measure the amount
of organic compounds in the water)
Levels
Sag curve cont.
Positives and -negatives
● Only measures the organics
-Oxidized by the bacteria
● Determines the degree of water pollution
-5 day time lag
-No consistent repetitive values
