In some places water is hard to find,
in others it requires a long journey. In
most places, it is full of dirt, bacteria,
and impurities.
In some areas of Kenya, sand
dams have been constructed to
collect rainwater…
But the water collected is not
clean, pure, or free of bacteria
In other areas there are wells, but no
capacity to store or filter the water.
Dysentery and other waterborne
disease results in many illnesses
and countless deaths.
This is where you can help…
is providing thousands of
LifeStraw personal filtration
straws to filter and purify water.
One LifeStraw can filter 1,000
liters of water – enough for one
person for an entire year.
A LifeStraw has no moving parts and no
need for a power souce. It is
lightweight and portable.
A LifeStraw filters out 99.9999% of all
waterborne bacteria.
The LifeStraw has four
separate filters to clean and
purify the water, including
an activated carbon filter to
improve the smell and taste
of the water

Where does the money go?
Water for Africa has no paid
employees.
Your gifts to the Southwestern
Texas Synod go to Water for
Africa.
Water for Africa uses the Greater

Foundation to handle all
bookkeeping, tax reporting, and
acknowledgments, at a cost of
1% of all donations.
The remaining 99% of donated
funds go to Vestergaard Frandzen
to purchase LifeStraws
The LifeStraws are delivered to
Lutheran World Relief who
distributes them in Africa.
People need your help today. You can
make a difference.
Our goal is to raise money to

Inasmuch as you have done it for one of the least
of these, you have done it unto me. -- Jesus
