Online Project Management
• Benefit is all project data is available from a
central location rather than on an individual’s
computer
• Most use a database to store project data and
provide forms for uploading and searching for
project data
• Can achieve a similar benefit but distribute the
responsibility for project information to
individuals

Manually Updated Project Data
• Static or dynamic web pages managed by
individuals
• Use email or the blog to transfer files to person
responsible for making information available on
web site
• Allows information content on web site to be
monitored
• Disadvantage is that individuals have to monitor
their email or the blog regularly.

Creating a Web site for Project
Management
• Identify a webmaster
• Design a home page and navbar: include a logo,
project title, group name and members, calendar,
date, news, email reminders, etc.
• Identify web pages for keeping track of: tasks,
events, meetings, documents, deliverables, ideas,
etc.
• Create links to individually developed web pages
and the group blog

To write out today's date for example, you would do:
<script type="text/javascript">
var mydate= new Date()
var theyear=mydate.getFullYear()
var themonth=mydate.getMonth()+1
var thetoday=mydate.getDate()
document.write("Today's date is: ")
document.write(theyear+"/"+themonth+"/"+thetoday)
</script>
