Topics Page Tips
• Be sure to cross-post news articles into
topics areas.
• Can leave news in topics areas longer than
on the homepage
• Change branding images as needed
• Check for staff and events on the topics
pages
• Consistent look and feel between topics
pages
Topics Page – Resources Area
• Fonts, alignment and text size should be
consistent. (check font size)
• Do not use colored backgrounds for text
• Check links monthly (if possible)
• Break up into sections
• Do not use URL’s – link text
• Good examples
– Allamakee County (Crops page)
– Carroll County (topics pages)
Events
• Enter events out as far as you know about
them
• Be sure to add a short description for most
events
• Page through events page on web site to
check for any incorrect dates.
