Adobe Fireworks and Photoshop
• Fireworks and Photoshop are graphics editors used to manipulate and
develop images.
• Photoshop was primarily developed to edit images for print-based
media (although it is increasingly being used for images for the Web).
• Fireworks was primarily developed to edit images for the Web, with
features such as slicing and imagemaps (more on this in week 4).
• This week, we’ll look at some of the ways you can manipulate images
in Photoshop; next week, we’ll look at how to manipulate them in
Fireworks.
