Evaluating web graphics
Unit 21 – AO1
Your evaluation must include
At least one advertising banner
At least one set of navigation buttons
At least one menu bar
At least one logo
Remember you MUST use at least 2 different
websites for Pass – 4 different websites for
Distinction
To be sure of Distinction you should evaluate in
detail at least 8 different web graphics – at least 6 for
Merit
How can I find out the size?
Try right click and “save as” to see if the graphic can
be downloaded and saved as it is
If this doesn’t work then take a screenshot and paste
it into the graphics application Fireworks
Crop the image to the part you want – then “Export”
it as “image only” – this will be saved as a .gif file.
Then you can look at the file size and size in pixels
very easily – and make sure you include both these
details in your evaluation of each graphic
