Layering
Choose Insert – Layout Objects – Layer
Click anywhere along the outline of the layer box to select it
Click & drag any of the handles to resize the layer
Adding Elements
Click to insert your cursor inside the layer
Choose Insert – Image
Click the filename of the image you want
to insert
Click ok
Select the image & use the Properties
inspector to make any formatting changes
to it

Click inside the layer again to insert your
cursor & enter some text
Highlight the text & format it by using the
text-formatting options in the Properties
inspector or by choosing formatting
options for the Text menu
Click the tab that appears in the upper-left
area of the layer or anywhere along the
border to select the layer

Click any handle & drag to resize the layer
To move a layer, click & drag the little tab
to move the layer anywhere on the page
Getting the White Out
Open a blank document in Word
Click on: Insert ~ Picture ~ From File
The “insert picture” box will come up
Go to clip art folder on your C drive
Click on graphics
Open folder, choose the graphic & doubleclick to insert into your document
Get the White Out
Double-click on the graphic to bring up the
“format picture” box
Select the Layout tab & click on In Front of
Text, and choose OK
Click on the graphic once to select it, &
choose the Set Transparent Color tool
Using the Set Transparent Color tool, go to
the white background part of the graphic &
click. Now your white background is gone
The tool can be found in the Picture
