Pull down the Insert menu and select Table to insert a basic
table for the page layout.
Select the required
number of rows and
columns.
Cell padding adjusts
the space between
the edge of the cell
and the text.
If you select a
header,
Dreamweaver will
format the selected
row or column
automatically.
Adjust the width of
the table. This can
be a percentage of
the page width or a
fixed number of
pixels.
Border thickness
adjusts the width of
the outer border.
Cell spacing adjusts
the width of the
space or lines
between the cells.

The table is indicated by gridlines.
This sample has 2 rows, 3 columns, and a border of 1 pixel.
Each cell is used to contain an object: text, image, menu, etc.

1. Enter main title.
2. Highlight the text.
3. Use the Format menu on the
Property inspector to format the text as Heading 2.
4. Centre the text if you wish.

The column widths and heights adjust automatically to fit the contents.
1. Add the subjects for the subject menu.
Pressing Return at the end of a line produces a new paragraph.
To move down one line, hold the CTRL key down and press Return.
2. Highlight row 1 and use the Property inspector to set the
vertical cell alignment to Top.

1. Enter text for the hyperlink and highlight the text.
3. Pull down the Insert menu and select Hyperlink to open
the Hyperlink dialog box.
4. Enter the required URL.
5. Set a target for the link (optional).
6. Title the link (optional).
You can also enter and
edit hyperlinks using the
Property inspector.

1. To save the file, pull down the File menu and select Save.
2. Enter the file name and select a location for the file.
3. Enter a title for the document in the
Title field of the Document toolbar.
NOTE: Web servers differ in the way they handle file names. To be safe always use:
lower-case letters and numbers only, no more than 8 characters, and no spaces.
Always specify .htm as the file name extension.

To insert images, pull down the Insert menu and
select Image. This opens the Select Image
Source dialog box.
Locate the image file, select it, and choose OK.
NOTE: Make sure that any images you want to use are saved in the same
folder as the web page. Make sure the file is saved as either GIF or JPEG.

When an image is selected, its properties display
in the Property inspector.
Using the Property inspector, enter a label and Alt
text for the image.

Click in any cell to view its properties on the Property inspector.
Use the Property inspector to change cell properties as desired.
