THE SUN- OBSERVING THE SUN
• NEVER look directly at the
Sun. It can damage your
eyes.
• You can view the Sun by
making a small hole in a
piece of paper. Then, hold
the paper with the hole
about a meter from a
black piece of paper. You
will see an image of the
Sun.

• The Sun is a medium-sized star.
• The Sun is a sphere.
• The Sun is very HOT- like a giant oven.
• The Sun provides light and heat for the Earth.
• The Sun has features on it (more on this later).

• At night, we can see many stars, but during
the day, we see our “daytime” star- the Sun.
