By: Alicia Valadez
Hi my name is Alicia Valadez and this
is my P.O.L of 2009. I will be talking
about my 3-D model and my family
trait tree from science and I will also
be talking about Ms.Staff’s
intersession called Street Tacos 4
Peace where we learn about how to
run and own a food business.
On my 3-D model
foot I have glitter
glue which is
supposed to be
acid rain. I have a
lot of labels on my
foot and those
labels are the
parts of my
human foot.
Foot facts
Did you know…
25% of human skeleton's bones are located in
the feet.
Each pair of feet contain about 250,000 sweat
glands that excrete as much as a half pint
everyday.
“when your feet hurt, you hurt all over”, says a
ancient Greek philosopher.
Your feet might be as much as 5 to 10 percent
larger a the end of the day.
An average person walks 8,000 to 10,000 steps a
day and over 115,000 miles a life time, this is
enough to walk around the world 4 times!!!
My mutation is to turn into a cat
and to have super speed. The
way I get this mutation is
because I get bit by a cheetah
that was mutated when it was
in a polluted jungle that
attracted acid rain so when it
bit me, all it’s D.N.A. went
inside me through my veins
and made me a mutated
super fast cat person winner
of races hero!
The major bones in the human foot are:
Phalanges: The bones in the toes.
Metatarsals: The bones in the middle of the foot.
Cuneiforms: There are three bones in the middle of the
foot, towards the center of the foot between the navicular
bone and the 1-3 metatarsal bone( the three bones are the
intermediate, lateral, medial cuneiform bones.)
Cuboid: The bone sitting adjacent* to the cuneiforms on
the outside of the foot is called the cuboid.
Navicular: This bone sits behind the cuneiforms.
Talus: Also called the ankle bone, the talus sits directly
behind the navicular.
Calcaneus: Also called the heel bone, the calcaneus sits
under the talus and behind the cuboid bone.
*Adjacent: when sides meet to make an angle.

 Enough with the family and feet, now I
will be zooming you into a fiesta of
peace but this concept is called the one
and only Street Tacos 4 Peace
intersession.
‘s
My Intersession's name is street tacos 4 Peace. This
intersession was so cool and fun because we got
to make food, test it, and give all the money we
made to a good cause. The thing I did mostly in
this intersession was I designed a lot including our
mission statement I designed the tacos and wrote
the title. The number of days we sold our food for
was 3-5 days every lunch.
The total money we made was about $700.
 A challenge about this intersession is that its hard
to find out what to buy because whatever we buy
has to subtract off the money we make so we had
to buy cheaper things so we can at least make a
profit and still be fair with our customers.
 The amount we sold our tacos for were $2.00 and
each taco subtracting the cost were $1.75 so from
each taco we actually made 15
What we learned


We learned a lot about different entrepreneurs
including ??? a famous successful entrepreneur
that started out poor but went to an organization
like K.I.V.A. that sent him money so he could start a
business its called a grammien bank. A grammien
bank is when ??? loaned money to people and if
they paid it back they later got to be partly owner
of the bank because it was so successful.
We also learned about how to run a successful
business and how to cook with good hygiene and
safety.
What organization did the money go from
selling the tacos?
The answer is K.I.V.A. where we sent our
money. K.i.v.a. is an organization to help
entrepreneurs that are poor to start a
business with money we loan to them.
What you do is that you pick a specific
person and send money to them so you
can support their business. If your
entrepreneur makes the business
successful they usually send your money
back to you.
