"Perhaps someone threw the shoes out because they
hurt their feet. You know, the agony of de feet."
•
Experts report that among individuals experiencing foot pain,
the age group experiencing the most discomfort ranges from
15-25. (NOT the group expected)
…
Could “Flip Flops” be the culprit?
According to the National Foot Health Assessment in 2012,
78% of people as young as 21 could report having existing
foot problems, or have had them in the past.
Among these injuries were: Foot Fatigue, Infections, Cuts/Scrapes,
Bunions, Heel Spurs, Hip Problems, Lower Back Pain, & Walking Issues
“I twisted my ankle trying on shoes, hopefully it will heel soon.”
Reasons To Dump Those Flops
Aside from looking unprofessional and
causing unsightly tan lines, here are a
few more reasons not to wear “thongs”
on your feet:
Toes: Tendonitis, bunion formation & hammer toes.
Bacteria: Attract 18,000 types of bacteria, including
fecal mater.
Ankles: Affects your natural gait, which in turn can
trigger pain and problems throughout the whole
body.
Bones: Repetitive trauma and lack of shock
absorption can lead to stress fractures.
Foot pad: Causes friction on the soft pad of your
feet.
Arch: Lack of support can lead to plantar fasciitis.
Heel: Cracks in the skin can develop as well as sharp
pain from plantar fasciitis.
They won’t just kill
your feet…

Woman plunges to death over cliff in Catskills
Authorities say a 23-year-old woman trying to take a picture by the edge of a cliff in the Catskill
Mountains died after falling more than 150 feet.
The State Police say that Ariana Bedka of Wappingers Falls lost her footing at the edge of a cliff on top
of Kaaterskill Falls at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Forest rangers were able to recover her body Wednesday morning from the attraction about 40 miles
south of Albany.
Bedka was wearing flip flops and lost her footing on loose stones and dirt causing her to fall
approximately 180 feet. It happened on an unmarked section of the trail with a male companion.
Witnesses told rescuers the woman was not paying attention while attempting to take a photograph.
The State Police say they have ruled out foul play and an autopsy was scheduled.
