Sing a Song of Solar System
(sung to the tune of “Sing a Song of Sixpence”)
Sing a song of solar system,
Nine planets in all,
Orbiting around the sun,
Each shaped like a ball.
The Sun is in the middle.
It’s a hot burning star.
Next come the inner planets,
Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.
Sing a song of solar system.
Be sure to avoid
All those rocks in the belt
Known as asteroids
Next Jupiter and Saturn,
They’re gassy as you know;
Then Uranus and Neptune,
And don’t forget Pluto!
The Planet Song
(sung to the tune of “The Ants go Marching”)
The planets revolve around the sun,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The planets revolve around the sun,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The planets revolve around the sun,
They spin on their axis, everyone,
And they all go spinning
Around and around they go.
Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars
All whirling and twirling among the stars
And they all go spinning,
Around and around they go.
Jupiter and Saturn are next in line
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Jupiter and Saturn are next in line
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Uranus, Neptune and Pluto makes nine,
Will we discover more in time?
And they all go spinning,
Around and around they go.

Long Division Game
Divide , multiply, subtract, compare, bring down game!
When teaching the steps for long division, have all
the students stand. Use a pointer to point to
each child in group or row order. Have the
students say the steps of division: DIVIDE,
MULTIPLY, SUBTRACT, COMPARE, BRING DOWN.
When a student says “BRING DOWN” he or she is
out and must sit. The last standing in the game
gets a prize!!
