Supramult in pregnancy






The WHO RDA for pregnancy for Vit A is 10,000iu in
geographical areas where Vit A intake is inadequate and
not likely to improve
The FDA RDA for pregnant women is between 5,0008000iu (This includes dietary intake)
Teratogenicity is seen from doses of 25000iu and above
The safety of Aloe vera and Lecithin have not been
established in the first 3 months of pregnancy
However supplementary Vit A has been found to reduce Vit
A deficiency anaemia and INCREASE hemoglobin
concentrations in neonates. This was found to reduce
pregnancy related mortality(30-50%), reduce ocular
abnormalities and wasting
Zinc/ folic acid supplementation in pregnancy help prevent
birth defects eg Spina bifida and reduces the risk of
miscarriage and dravidic toxemia

Aloe Vera







Generic name: Barbadensis miller
Popularly known as ‘the plant of life’ or the True Aloe
Contains 12 Vitamins including antioxidants (C, E, BCarotene) and 20 minerals
Contains 18 amino acids including 7 out of the 8 essential
amino acids
It also contains fatty acids and lignin, Antraquinones and
Saponins
Also Enzymes with digestive and anti-inflammatory
activities and Acetylsalicylic acid
Aloe Vera also contains Mono and Polysaccharides e.g.
Acemanan which has immune enhancing and immune
