Workplace Violence Prevention
“The Final Frontier of Community Policing”
Workplace Violence Represents 18% of Crime in the United States
The success of community policing is based on prevention of crime by
establishing proactive partnerships with impacted stakeholders.
Successful communications (or Not!) with local law enforcement must be
understood in order to create realistic workplace violence prevention
policies to protect employees and company assets.
Each partner – local law enforcement & local businesses need to
communicate their competencies as well as their willingness ( or not!)
to collaborate on emerging workplace threats; not just traditionally
respond to workplace violence in progress.
Go Ahead – Call local law enforcement with 10 digits – not 3 (911)

Private Sector Preparedness:
…”the private sector controls 85%
of the critical infrastructure of the
nation.. Unless a terrorist target is
a military or other government
facility, the “first” responders will
almost certainly be civilians.”
“Homeland security and national
preparedness therefore often
begins with the private sector”
