What is being done?
Drink Safe Technology has invented
small cards and test strips to test your
drink no matter where you are.
Self defense courses for women
There are more
harsh
consequences for
date rape drugs
used that render
the victim
unconscious and
limit memory
In Australia there is a campaign called
“Drug Rape-Watch yourself, watch your
friends”. Information is being posted in
multiple public locations to help potential
victims.
Characteristics of a Victim
In 77% of cases a personal
weapon was used (hands,
feet, or fists)
14% of all victims
are between the
ages of 18 and 24
No weapons was
noted in 14% of
assaults
Other common locations
included schools, hotel/motels,
fields, woods, parking lots,
roadways, and
commercial/office buildings.
12-18 year olds
represent the largest
group of victims at
33%
More than
86% of victims
are females
The residence of the
victim as the most
commonly noted location
of the sexual assault
