ALCOHOL
One of the worlds oldest drugs.
Alcohol
is a drug, known as
ethanol.
The chemical formula is
C2H5OH .
Alcohol is produced by
fermenting fruit and/or grain.
There
are different types of
beer which include:
1. Ales 2. Lager 3. Light
4. Stouts 5. Barely Wines.
BEERS
Beer
has 4-8 % alcohol.
One drink of beer consists of
12 oz. of that beverage.
Light beer DOES NOT contain
less alcohol than other beers,
only fewer calories.

Wines

PROOF
Proof
was the method used
by moonshiners to “prove” to
their customers that there
was a minimum amount of
alcohol in the whiskey.
LIQUOR
Proof
is the percentage of
alcohol x2.
Most standard liquors are 80
proof ….. Which means they
have 40% alcohol.

Alcohol
is expensive because
of a “luxury tax” placed on it
by the US Government.
Denatured is pure, 200 proof
ethanol which is “poisoned”
so that it can’t be consumed,
making it less expensive.
Liquor Con’t
One
drink of 80 proof liquor
is 1.5 oz. (often called a
“shot”). If the shot has a
stronger liquor (say, 100
proof) then you are having
more than one drink.
Liquor Con’t
Types
of liquor include
whiskey (bourbon, Rye,
Scotch), Gin, Rum,
Vodka and Tequila.
