Barcelona has consolidated its position as the 4th best European city in which to locate a business and
the best city in Europe in terms of the quality of life of its workers, according to the study conducted
annually by Cushman & Wakefield, and has also maintained a low position in the world ranking of cities
with a high cost of living. Barcelona has maintained its position as the best city since 1996, beating other
European cities such as Paris, London and Madrid.

Barcelona has consolidated its position as the best city in Europe
in terms of the quality of life of its workers, according to the study
conducted annually by Cushman & Wakefield, and has also
maintained a low position in the world ranking of cities with a high
cost of living. Barcelona has maintained its position as the best
city since 1996, beating other European cities such as Paris,
London and Madrid.
Barcelona is seen as one of the cities
that does the most to improve.
According to Mercer's 2009 Quality of Living survey covering
215 cities, Barcelona is among the 50 cities in the world with
the best quality of life.

Quality Education
Two of the top three Spanish universities in terms

universities in terms of the quality of doctorate
programmes. In terms of research quality, the
UAB, UB, UPC and UPF are among the top ten
