Pressurized Water Extinguisher
Specifications
• Stainless steel shell
• 2A Rating
• 2 ½ gallons of water
– 1 to 2 oz of class A foam
• 100 psi operating pressure
• 45’ to 55’ discharge range
• 50 second discharge time
Use
• Small class A fires
– Ordinary combustibles
Maintenance
• After use
– Fill 2/3 with water
• Fill to bottom of white internal sleeve
– Add 1-2 oz. of class A foam
– Pressurize to 100 psi via Schrader valve
• Inspected annually by certified company
• Hydrostatically tested every 5 years at 200 psi

Use

– Based on a non expert use
• Class C fires
– Does not conduct electricity
Maintenance
• Serviced by certified company
• Inspected annually by certified company
• Hydrostatically tested every 5 years at 585 psi
• Shake monthly to avoid caking

General Maintenance of
Extinguishers

Inspect extinguisher daily
Check for leaks, dents, and corrosion
Check condition of hose and nozzle
Ensure valve assembly is tight
Ensure extinguisher is full
Ensure extinguisher is fully pressurized
Ensure annual inspection date is current
Ensure hydrostatic test date is current
Safety
• Use appropriate PPE
• Know extinguisher’s limitations
• Use appropriate extinguisher for specific
class of fire
• CO2 is a simple asphyxiate
• Hoisting extinguishers is not recommended
