MPIO’s (Multi Purpose Input/Output ports)
-Each MPIO can directly drive up to 4 IR Emitters
-Direct injection of IR to rear panel of devices
-Use with Video Sync or Voltage Sense modules
-Use for RS-232 communication with CM-232 module
RS-232 Ports
-Category 5 with RJ-45 termination (568b)
-(8) RJ-45 to DB-9 adapters included
-Bi-directional RS-232 capable
Sense Inputs
-Sense contact closure
-Sense voltage trigger
-Upon sensing, events can be automatically triggered
from the XP-8
Relay/Trigger Outputs
-Configure as contact closure or voltage trigger
-5 or 12 +VDC, 100mA current capability
-Normally open or normally closed
-When configured as a trigger, A= +VDC, B= GROUND
Infrared Terminals
-Terminal: +12VDC
Used to power external IR or RF receivers
-Terminal: GND
Ground reference for any device connected to
any terminal (SIGNAL IN, +12VDC, HIGH OUT)
-Terminal: SIGNAL IN
IR or RF system trigger code input
-Terminal: HIGH OUT
200mA IR output to power an external connecting
block or IR blaster
Ethernet Port
RJ-45 port allows connection to LAN to download system
files to the XP-8
USB Ports (rear)
Host ports for external devices (future use)
RTI COM Port
RJ-45 port allows connection to a Zigbee transceiver
(ZM-24) module, supporting full two-way communication
with compatible RTI handheld controllers
Expansion Port
RJ-45 port provides a connection for IR signals for a CB-4
connecting block, or RS-485 serial communication with
in-wall controllers, or expansion devices like the RCM-12
MENU
-Delivers the main menu if unlocked, the unlock
screen if XP-8 is locked
SEL
-Selects menu/function
EXIT
-Navigate back 1 level (function to menu,
or menu to previous menu)
CURSOR Keys
-Navigate the selected menu options
Display
- Sensing status of VPS-1/SPS-1 power sync modules
- Status of each “Sense” input
- Current state (open, closed) of each relay
- Current firmware date/version
- Time/date
- On-screen diagnostics
XP-8 Processing Rules
-XP-8 will send standalone IR codes in the order they are
received from the controllers
-6 macro engines allow for the execution of up to six macros
simultaneously
-Once an IR command begins, it runs to completion
-If a macro sends an IR code, it will wait at that step until the
IR generator is free
-Once a macro begins to transmit IR codes, that macro engine
has exclusive use of the IR generator until it sends an instruction
OTHER than IR (flag test, relay, delaying, etc.)
