Salary - £30,000 - £40,000
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with power electronic systems, for
example SVC, HVDC, FACTS,VSC, STATCOM, IGBT converters, and Pulsed power systems >50kW.
Candidates should also possess an aptitude for applied mathematics to be able to assist in
simulation work using software simulation tools and knowledge of Labview, Solid edge, PLECS,
PSPICE and FEA systems would be useful.
Key Responsibilities.
-Working as part of the power assemblies design team to produce robust optimised designs
against customer specifications
-Initially assist with and ultimately work independently on the design of a range of power
conversion systems, to include (plus many more)
1. Controlled rectifiers
2. Var Compensation
3. Voltage Source Convertors
4. High energy pulsed power switches
5. IGBT based Invertors and Convertors
- Entering into dialogue with customers regarding technical details of drawings and
specifications
-Devise power semiconductor systems solutions from first principles
Support customers before, during and after the designs have been completed.
