Use dots and dashes in the style of
Van Gogh. Create a series of studies
from your-own/found-imagery (any
materials can be used - even pen,
pencil, felt pen, etc. It does not have
to be painted).

drawings/paintings/photos - take the
fore, mid & background from these
and re-assemble. eg Fore from Christo
wrapped trees, mid from Van Gogh
and background from Alan Lee

different elements of his work

Using Stephen Gill’s ‘Hackney flowers’
series of photography as inspiration,
create your own.
Take a landscape photograph, print it
out, then lay flowers/vegetation from
the same area over the top of it.
Photograph again.

Urban landscape - Patterns down my
street. Take as many photos as
possible of different patterns out
there in the built environment. TV
aerials, brickwork, drain covers,
fences, etc.
