Academica Katajanokka Data Center in Helsinki.

According to Academica, their site is the world’s most energy efficient AC data center

Helsinki Energia and Academica won the Uptime Institutes global IT Award on 2010

Unique about the project:

Data center is located beneath Uspenski Cathedral using sea water and heat exchangers,
absorption and heat pump technologies to cool servers

Over 50% of the energy consumed by traditional method cooled data centers is for cooling

Helsinki Energia`s and Academica`s system reduces the consumed energy for cooling by 80%.

The heat that is produced by the servers is fed into the municipal heating network
