Endangered Species Statistics
1.
By the Year 2050, Scientists
believe that 1.25 million different
animal species are going to be extinct
because of what humans and natural
causes did.
2. By the year 3000, scientist believe
that at least 1,000 more species, from
the year 2050, are going to be
extinct.

•
Global Warming- unwanted waste in the air that unbalances the
climate and makes holes in the O-Zone
Human CausesDeforestation- People destroy animals habitats, by cutting
down trees and forests
Swamp draining- When people drain water from swamps,
leaving no water and harmful soil behind.
Poaching- People killing animals for their fur, skin, and heads
for money.
Food- People kill them to eat, so they can have yummy, tasty
meals.
Oil spills- Spilling oil in the ocean is harmful enough to kill
animals
Animal Testing- testing things on animals to try to find a cure
for diseases, but yet killing the animals.
Natural Causes- environmental causes of extinction of animals.
Some examples of this are: lack of genetic variation and natural
selection.

Reasons to Save Them!
• Tourist attractionAnimals are a major tourist attraction. These animals can bring up to
$40 billion dollars a year. Animals are great for whale watching, zoos,
aquariums, petting zoo’s, and many more.
• Foundation for a healthy ecosystemWith out animals in our ecosystem, ecosystems would fail. This would
slowly cause Earth to crumble into nothing, but a lifeless planet.
• Helpers of humansSome animals, like the dog, are very helpful towards humans. Some
animals can be eye seeing pets, money bringing pets, like in the circus,
or even comforting pets.

Ways of saving animals!
• MovementsIn 1970 there was a movement that tried to forbid from
littering and killing animals. This movement was
unsuccessful, though.
• Animal saving groupsThere are many animal saving groups in the world, like
PETA, ASPCA, The Humane Society, STARS, and ect.
These groups work to spread animal compassion across
the U.S.A. They also try to raise money, to save these
injured, or poor endangered animals.
• Farm SanctuariesGroups of people who try to stop farm cruelties. Some
farm cruelties are like branding, tagging, and animal
labor.
