industry, manufacturing, exports and agricultural
products. Record the information in your notes.
As you research, determine how these resources
have impacted settlers throughout history.
Also, note the Gross Domestic Product and per

This information can be found using your smart
devices and World Fact Book.
Economy Wheels
You will use the information you have found to create an
“Economy Wheel”
Your wheel should have the name of your country in the center
and then be divided into 5 sections
Each section should represent one of 5 economic resources from
your assigned country. The sections should contain the name of
the resource and an illustration to accompany each resource.
On the back of the wheel, you should use the information you
found to propose a solution to the economic problems facing SubSaharan Africa we discussed earlier. This should be a short
paragraph supported by details found from your research.
Discussing the Wheels
Round Robin Discussion
Now, you will talk about the resources in your assigned
country and the solutions to the economic problems you
proposed.
Starting from the A people and going in a clockwise
rotation, each member of the group will describe one
resource or their economic solution found on their mask.
After all members have been given the chance to discuss
the resources and solutions on their masks, one member
of the group will write down the economic problems
facing Africa, south of the Sahara, as well as a group plan
of how you and your table members would fix the
problems
