Causes Of Endangerment

Our planet is continually changing, causing habitats
to be altered and modified. Natural changes tend to
occur at a gradual pace, usually causing only a slight
impact on individual species. However, when
changes occur at a fast pace, there is little or no time
for individual species to react and adjust to new
circumstances. This can create disastrous results,
and for this reason, rapid habitat loss is the primary
cause of species endangerment.
Why Save Endangered
species


Medical
Plants and animals are responsible for a variety of useful
medications. In fact, about forty percent of all prescriptions
written today are composed from the natural compounds
of different species. These species not only save lives, but
they contribute to a prospering pharmaceutical industry
worth over $40 billion annually. Unfortunately, only 5% of
known plant species have been screened for their
medicinal values, although we continue to lose up to 100
species daily.
Why Are These Animals
Murdered!



Some animals have valuable fur, teeth or
tusks.
Other animals or simply hunted for sport
even though this is illegal.
But there are still animals that are simply
killed for food. This is the genuine way to
take an animals life.
List Of Some Species close to
extinction!
Elephants
 Tigers and
 Giant Panda>
 Brown bear
These are just some
of the earths endangered wildlife.

The Asian Elephant>



There are from 34,000 to 54,000 Asian elephants left in the wild
today.
Because people are taking away their land and also taking
away their resources causing them to die of starvation. Another
reason is because humans are killing them for the ivory which
is found in their trunks even though this practice is illegal.
Asian elephants are found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China,
India, Indonesia, Kampuchea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar,
Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam
Tigers



Tigers feed mostly on deer, wild boar, wild cattle and even
young rhinos and elephants. They are excellent hunters and
prefer to ambush their prey.
The tiger is the most powerful living cat species on the earth
and the largest and heaviest living of the cats in the world.

The main cause of decline is poaching and loss of habitat due
to human population expansion and activities such as
logging.
Giant Panda



The giant panda is an extremely rare animal found mainly in the
Western Szechwan province of southwest China
Giant pandas eat mostly bamboo leaves and shoots. But they
can also eat fruit and berries, fungi, grass, and even small
mammals, birds and fish. Pandas live alone most of their lives,
only coming together when it is time to mate
The giant panda is only found in central and western China,
and only 1000 to 2000 remain in the wild. Causes of their
decline include destruction of habitat and poaching. And the
panda is heavily dependent upon its main food source, bamboo
How can we help this endangered
species


We can work together to help stop people
from hunting them and try to set up even
more protection schemes to try to keep these
species from dieing out.
Just remember once these animals are gone
they can never come back!
