Premise of Investigation
 In
demolition derbys, lots of stuff get
destroyed because of the many
collisions that take place.
 How
can we use physics and math to
analyze these collisions?
Suggested setup

In this investigation, students will analyze the
effects of different factors on collisions,
including force, time interval, and change in
velocity.
 This investigation is appropriate for linking
early calculus with the physics of motion,
specifically the Impulse-Momentum Theorem
and 1st and 2nd time derivatives of
displacement
