The Science of Track
By: Rajnarine Singh
Class: 808
Introduction to Science
of Track
)
 I picked track
because you
use a lot of
energy when
you run and
you cant waste
your energy all
at once.
Potential Energy
 Potential energy
is when you are
not using your
energy yet but
you can. For
example in track
before you start
running you get
into a pose to
give you a good
start at running.
Kinetic Energy
Kinetic energy
is when your
using your
energy. For
example you
use your
energy in track
while you are
running.
Digestive System
The digestive
system is what
put the food
you eat to
energy and
this is good for
track runners
cause they
need energy to
run fast.
Respiratory System
The respiratory
system cleans
incoming air
and this is
good for track
runners
because they
need clean air
so they can get
energy.
Circulatory System
 The circulatory
system consists of
the heart, blood,
and blood
vessels. It needs
energy to pump
the blood
throughout the
body. Track
runners need this
because they
need a good
heart to run.
Excretory System
 The excretory
system releases
water and salt
from the body as
well as releasing
excess heat.
Track runners
need this so they
wont over heat.
Muscular System
The muscular
system is the
thing that
makes us
move. Track
runner’s need
this because if
they can’t
move they
can’t run!
Electric Energy
Electric energy
is the flow of
electrons
around a
circuit. Trach
runners need
this so they
can moveœ
Energy Transformation
When you eat a lot
you become fat
that’s a energy
transformation or
when you work
out. Track runners
need this so they
can get stronger.
Conserving Energy
 Conserving
energy helps
track runners in
two ways one is
at the end of the
race if the track
runner saved his
energy at the end
he can blow it to
the finish line and
the other reason
is that they can
run faster when
they save there
Newton’s 1st Law of
Motion
 Newton’s 1st Law
says that an object in
motion will want to
stay in motion and
object at rest will
want to stay at rest
unless acted upon an
outside force.
 This rule for track
runners are if they
run fast it will be
hard to stop so that’s
why they don’t have
races that you have
to go back.
Newton’s 2nd Law of
Motion
 Newton’s 2nd Law
says that the greater
the force acting on
an object, the greater
the acceleration, or
change in the object’s
motion.
 So that means the
faster you move your
legs the faster you
run.
Newton’s 3rd Law of
Motion
 Newton’s 3rd Law
says that “For
every action there
is an equal and
opposite
reaction.”
 So when you run
the opposite
action is your
getting tired.
Machines
 Machines help
track runners
work out by you
know the bike
that wont move
no matter how
hard you pedal,
that helps you
work out your
legs.
Conclusion
 So track is related
science in many
ways but the
important one is
energy because
with out energy
track runners
wont be able to
run fast
