Introduction
The digestive system breaks
the food we eat into little
pieces !
These pieces give us energy.
The mouth has a job of grinding the food
into tiny little pieces . That then gets
pushed down by saliva to pass into the
Oesophagus.
Oesophagus
The oesophagus is a soft ,thin tube
which
carries mashed, sludgy food down
into the
stomach!
Food particles mix with stomach acid
enzymes to break down even smaller.
Most of the digestion takes place here!
Liver!
The liver produces bile that takes good
things out of the food we eat .
It will use nutrients from food to make
building blocks for the body.
Most food gets digested
here.
Large intestines
In the liver water is removed and faeces are
formed in here!
Rectum!
The rectum holds faeces (poop) until your
ready to go to the loo!
Did you know?
The gall bladder holds bile and the pancreas
produces insulin .Guess what the small
intestine is longer than the wall in our
class!
Thanks for watching!
