Geographical advantages
1. The intersection of international transport flows in the directions "North-South"
and "West-East“ provides internal, interregional and international transit
connections. This is the place where water, rail and road transport routes
converge.
2. Two roads connecting Volzhsky and Volgograd (regional center).
3. The River port with two berths (passenger and cargo) accepts vessels of a type
"river-sea" and connects Volzhsky with Azov-Black sea and Mediterranean
basins, Caspian and Baltic seas.
4. The railroad line passing through Volzhsky connects Russia and Middle Asia.
5. From the South the natural border of the city is the sleeve of Volga – Akhtuba
river.
6. The Volgograd region verges with Saratov, Astrakhan, Voronezh, Rostov regions,
Republic of Kalmykia and Kazakhstan.
Climate
The climate is sharply-continental with long, hot and dry summer. The spring is short and
autumn is warm and sunny. The abundance of a heat is similar to the South coast of Crimea.

One of the priorities of the municipal government according to the
economic policy is to create best conditions for attracting investments
and developing investment process in the city.
In 2013 in the Administration of Volzhsky was created a special
structure for managing activity according to improvement of investment
climate – the Department of investments and business development.
In 2015 Investment Manager has founded an institution to provide
efficient interaction between investors and economic entities in the
structural units of the city administration, and also to support and
implement investment projects, to create good conditions for developing
small and medium businesses.
The “Road Map” was established for 2016 as an action plan to integrate
best municipal practice with
the Agency of strategic initiatives
assistance.
