Region
There are five regions in
Georgia. A region is an
area of land that has
some shared natural or
human feature that sets
it apart from other
areas.

Chattahoochee River
A river is a large
body of moving water
that flows into a
lake, ocean, or
another body of
water.
Landform
There are many
different landforms
throughout Georgia.
A landform is one of
the shapes of land
found on the Earth.
(ex: valley, lake,
river, volcano)
Plateau
A plateau is an area of
fairly flat, high land.
This is a photo of a plateau.
Plain
A plain is an area of
grassy, flat land
usually good for
farming.
Valley
A valley is a low area
of land between two
mountains or hills.
Ridge
A ridge is a long,
narrow strip of high
land.
Piedmont
A piedmont is the
region in which we
live.
Cardinal Directions
Cardinal directions are
the four main directions
on a compass rose.
Intermediate Directions
Intermediate directions
are the directions
between the four
cardinal directions
(northwest, southwest,
northeast, southeast)
Culture
Culture is the
customs, arts, and
tools of a nation or
people at a certain
time.
