Blue Ridge Mountains
Blue Ridge Mountains are located in the North Georgia mountains. That is in
the northeast corner of Georgia, and spreads in a westerly direction.
Characteristics of Blue Ridge
Mountains
The Blue Ridge Mountains in northeast Georgia make up
the state's highest mountain range. The range of rugged
ridges and rounded, weathered peaks varies in elevation
from 1,600 to 4,700 feet and has mountain views.

The Blue ridge region includes Brasstown Bald Peak
which is the highest point in Georgia. It is over 4,784
feet above sea level.

We live in the Piedmont Region.
It is hilly with many forests.
The Capital of Georgia which is Atlanta is located in the
Piedmont Region.
The Piedmont Region stretches from Alabama to South
Carolina.

The Coastal Plain is located in the southern part of Georgia. The Coastal
Plain is divided into 2 parts: upper and lower . The upper part is the
agricultural part while the lower part is the Atlantic Ocean and the swamps.

The Coastal Plains region of Georgia is known
for its flatlands, marshes and swamps. One of
the best-known wetlands in the United States
- the Okefenokee Swamp - is located in this
region of Georgia. This area covers the
southern and southeastern half of Georgia. It
is the largest region of Georgia.
The Coastal Plains go east and south of the
Fall Line
Attractions of Coastal Plain
Providence Canyon is called Georgia's "Little Grand
Canyon." It was formed from erosion 150 years ago. All
of the canyons were formed by an ancient ocean. There
are 16 canyons altogether.
The Okefenokee Swamp is a swamp on the Georgia and
Florida border.

fields of grain and pastures of cows. The region has
limestone capped ridges that divide the flat farmlands.

North Georgia's Amicalola Falls gets its name from the
native Cherokee word meaning "tumbling waters."
Amicalola is the state's highest waterfall, with a total
drop of 729 feet. It is located in Amicalola Falls State
Park.
