Poverty is increasingly an urban phenomenon.
Overcoming urban poverty is key to reaching other global
objectives, with emphasis in Peace and Security, and
Sustainability.
The urban poor are an asset. They come with problems, but they
are also part of the solutions.
Local communities, the cities have impressive success stories to
tell.
Local Authorities bring their voice and their needs to the table of
the international community. The international community begins
to recognise the political relevance of urban issues, transformed
from technical issues.
