THE BEST MOMENT FOR THE
ERADICATION OF FMD IS NOW !
The outbreaks had drastic reduction;
Problem persists in very delimited critical areas;
There is strong motivation for the Mercosul
members to cooperate due to the great losses
with the last outbreaks.

GIEFA: SOME CONCLUSIONS AFTER
MEETINGS WITH THE PRIVATE
SECTOR.
They prefer to have freedom to choose their
for the donation or sponsorship;
partners
They are not in accordance with the management of the
resources only by the governments or international
institutions;
They agree that the institutions should be payed by
their services but with a previous negotiation.
GIEFA: SOME CONCLUSIONS AFTER
MEETINGS WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR
(cont’d).
All parties agree to payment of bonuses/rewards or to
complement salaries of veterinarians and field
personnel if areas are free of outbreaks.
Several institutions and programs with same objectives
represent barriers to effective participation of private
sector.
Private sector does not contribute when Government
aims to invest.
