Mass media means technology that is
intended to reach a mass audience .It is the
primary means of communication used to
reach the vast majority of the general public.
1 Mass media provide information to the mass with
in a less time .
2 It brings the entire world to the individual or to
the classroom .
3 It sends information to remote places and helps in
distant learning .
4 Mass media are useful for reinforcing group
dynamics and interpersonal communication .
MOBILE PHONE
A mobile phone (also known as a cellular phone, cell
phone or simply a phone) is a phone that can make and receive
telephone calls over a radio link while moving around a wide
geographic area . It does so by connecting to a cellular network
provided by a mobile phone operator , allowing access to the
public telephone to the network . By contrast, a cordless
telephone is used only with in the short range of a single ,
private base station .
The first hand –held cell phone was demonstrated
by JOHN F MITCHELL and MARTIN COOPER of Motorola in
1973,using a handset weighing around 4.4 pounds (2kg),in
1983 , DYNA TAC 8000X was the first t be commercially
available from 1983 to 2014.
INTERNET
The Internet is the global system of inter
connected computer network that use the
Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link billions of
device worldwide. It began in California in
1969 and began connecting to networks on
other continents in 1988. it is an network of
networks (“internet” is short for “internet
working”) that consist of millions of private,
public, academic, business ,and government
networks of local to global scope, linked by a
broad array of electronic, wireless, and optical
networking technologies.
TELEVISION
A television, commonly referred to as TV,
telly or the tube, is a telecommunication medium
used for transmitting sound with moving images in
monochrome (black-and-white), or in colour, and in
two or three dimensions. It can refer to a television
set, a television programme of the medium of
transmission. Television is a mass medium, for
entertainment, education, news and advertisement.
RADIO BROADCASTING
Radio broadcasting is a one-way
wireless transmission over radio waves intended to
reach a wide audience. Stations can be linked in
radio networks to broadcast a common radio format
either in broadcast syndication or simulcast or both.
Audio broadcasting also can be done via cable radio,
local wire television networks, satellite radio internet
radio via streaming media on the internet. The signal
types can be either analogue audio or digital audio.
COMPACT DISC
Compact disc (CD) is a digital optical
disc data storage format. The format was originally
developed to store and play only sound recordings
but was later adapted for storage data (CD-ROM).
Several other formats were further divided from
these, including write-ones audio and data storage
(CD-R), rewritable media (CD-RW), Video Compact
Disc (VCD), Super Video Compact Disc (SVCD),
Photo CD, Picture CD,CD-i and Enhanced Music
CD. Audio CDs and audio CD players have been
commercially available since October 1982.
NEWS PAPER
A news paper is a serial publication
containing news, other informative articles, and
usually advertising. A news paper is usually
printed on relatively in expensive, low grade
paper such as news print. The news organizations
that publish news papers are themselves often
metonymically called news paper.
