internet is a world wide or global
system. It consists of interconnected
computers. Data is interchanges
through data packets using TCP/IP
suite.
It is also known as network of
networks. This is becuase people
make use of it for connecting
individual and organization wide
network.
Intranet
An intranet is a private computer network
that uses internet technologies to securely
share any part of an organization's
information or operational systems with its
employees. Sometimes the term refers only
to the organization's internal website, but
often it is a more extensive part of the
organization's computer infrastructure and
private websites are an important
component and focal point of internal
communication and collaboration.
Extranet
An
extranet is defined as a private
network of computers that makes use
of internet protocols, network
connectivity and a telecommunication
system in order to share the
information or operations related to the
company and its stakeholders.
Note
Intranets differ from extranets in that the
former are generally restricted to employees
of the organization while extranets may also
be accessed by customers, suppliers, or
other approved parties. Extranets extend a
private network onto the Internet with
special provisions for access, authorization
and authentication

to help international trade and investment. A
foreign exchange market helps businesses
convert one currency to another. For example, it
permits a U.S. business to import European
goods and pay Euros, even though the
business's income is in U.S. dollars
