Introduction: TC 100 Scope
10/11/2010
To prepare international publications in the field of
audio, video and multimedia systems and
equipment.
These publications mainly include specification of
the performance, methods of measurement for
consumer and professional equipment and their
application in systems and its interoperability with
other systems or equipment
NOTE:
Multimedia is the integration of any form of audio, video,
graphics, data and telecommunication and integration
includes the production, storage, processing, transmission,
display and reproduction of such information
TC 100 covers both ‘Systems’ and ‘Products’
TC 100 addresses both consumer and professional

PT 62654: Energy Saving System (ESS)
10/11/2010
Subtitle:
Networked-Based Energy Consumption
Measurement of AV Multimedia Equipment and
Systems
Scope:
IEC 62654 specifies architecture and functional
requirements of Energy Saving System (ESS) that
measures energy consumption of each home
appliance including AV multimedia equipment and
systems and reduces its standby power as well.
For TC100/AGS (IEC/SMB/SG3 Workshop)
20
PT 62654: Architecture of Energy Saving System
ESS network consists of an ESS server and one or more ESS clients as shown here.
Each ESS client does not communicate with other ESS clients but the ESS server. The
communication is enabled by the no-new-wired communication method such as wireless
communication as well as PLC. Accordingly, it does not require extra wiring for configuring
the home ESS network.
Each home electronic device (HED) can use the AC power provided from an ESS client
regardless with its type and networking feature.

21
IEC 62481 (DLNA): Connect all AV & multimedia
equipment together
10/11/2010
For TC100/AGS (IEC/SMB/SG3 Workshop)
22
IEC 62514: Scope
10/11/2010
This standard specifies recommended functions
and services to be supported by the home
multimedia gateway and, where appropriate,
refers to existing standards supported in the
market. For general requirements, it is expected
that widely adopted standards and technologies
will be considered by implementers.
This standard gives supplementary application to
IEC 62481, which specifies a central management
model in home network supporting various
interfaces in LAN side and WAN side (optional).
This standard is applicable to home multimedia
gateways in the home network or networks of
similar environment.
For TC100/AGS (IEC/SMB/SG3 Workshop)

IEC 62087: AV & Multimedia Power Consumption
Measurement Methods
IEC 62087: Methods of measurement for the
power consumption of audio, video and related
equipment
10/11/2010
This specifies mainly “on-mode” power consumption
TC 59 provides “off” and “standby” mode power
consumption methods unless it is not suitable to TC
100 related equipment and systems.
