• Rome was founded in 753 B.C., during the
period between 509 B.C. and 27 B.C. the
mighty Roman army conquered most of the
surrounding cities and states, including
Greece.
• Romans learned from the people they
conquered. This enriched their ideas and art.

time, landscapes.
