• Know your surroundings
• Dangerous weather conditions

• Nearby hazards
• Have a place to go

Create An Emergency Communications Plan
• Know area of shelter
• Inside and outside of home
• Identify evacuation routes
• How will you get there
• Identify a meeting place
• A place to meet with your family or friends

• You should have on hand:
• 3-day Supply of Water
• More if during a hot summer month or for pets
• Food (non-perishable) for 3 days
• Non electric cooking tools (plastic utensils, hand
can opener, etc.)

• Discuss Plan with home health aides
• Teach others how to use equipment
• Label your equipment
