Projected Activities of the Forum:
1. Monthly scientific meetings.
2. Production of educational material.
3. Web site activities.
4. Round table discussions.
5. Annual scientific conference.
6. Forming Egyptian Guidelines for Cardiovascular
protection.
7. Young investigator research grant .
1. Monthly Scientific Meetings:
The members of the Forum will meet regularly every 1
to 2 months. The agenda of these monthly meetings will
consist of three parts.
Part I:
Review of the most recent literature on a special topic of
cardiovascular prevention by a member of the Forum.
Part II:
Case Study – case of the month. A clinical discussion of an
interesting case with practical relevance to Cardiovascular
prevention.

Drug industry review
Part IV:
Administrative activities which includes review of progress in
the education program, web site, printed material, etc.
Three of these meetings will be held in Cairo, three
outside Cairo and one in a Gulf state.
2.Production of Educational Material:
A) Annual Monograph:
One or more members of the Forum will produce an educational
monograph (approximately 40 pages) reviewing and discussing
the literature on a certain topic related to Cardiovascular field and
presenting it in a simplified didactic form.
B) Arabic Booklet:
Targeted to public and patient education in 6-10 pages in a
simple language that can be understood by lay persons
discussing some aspects regarding prevention of cardiovascular
disease, e.g., obesity, heart attack, hypertension, etc.

For practitioners and specialists 8-10 pages educational booklet
addressing a practical, clinical question.
D)Proceedings of Monthly Meetings:
Scientific material presented and discussed in the monthly
meetings will be published regularly both at the web-site and
through regular printed periodicals.
3. Web-Site Activities
The Forum will present its educational
activities and news at a special corner on the
EHS web-site. The site will be updated every
three months.
4. Round Table Discussions:
Two or more speakers with particular
expertise in an area of common interest are
to discuss (in a round-table format) issues
of national interest that will help to improve
physicians and public knowledge and
attitude regarding the management and
prevention of cardiovascular disease.
5. Annual Scientific Conference
One to two days conference will present the
activities of the Forum during the former year. In
addition to a number of the state-of-art lectures,
panel and round table discussions, there will be
interactive sessions with audience covering both
the theoretical and clinical aspects of Cardio
vascular protection .
The annual conference can be organized as a
satellite meeting for the EHS annual scientific
convention.
6. Egyptian guidelines for prevention
of cardiovascular diseases
The forum will prepare a brief document
outlining the Egyptian guidelines for
prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
The guidelines will take into consideration
the social, economic, demographic and
cardiovascular risk profile of the Egyptian
population.
7. Young Investigator Research
Grant
To encourage research in the field of
Cardiovascular protection, the Forum will
offer
a
generous
grant
to
young
investigators conducting research in this
area.
8. Physician education
program
In addition to printed material, members of the
forum will participate in a national education
program addressing physicians outside Cairo.
During meetings organized in Alexandria, Port Said
and Luxor, local practitioners and specialists are
invited to participate and attend the forum
discussions and the education program.
9. Exchange of information
and experience with
physicians in the Arab world,
particularly in Saudi Arabia
and gulf area.
